Word list & credits

This release includes 269,870 unique entries consisting of lowercase English letters, between 2 and 15 characters long.

Source: word-list 4.1.0 by Sindre Sorhus, distributed under the MIT License. The package points to the atebits Words English list. We preserve the package license here.

Coverage and limitations

This is a general word list, not a curated list of common answers or an official competition lexicon. It can include rare words, plurals, regional forms and sensitive language. A match is a spelling candidate, not a statement about its suitability or game acceptance.

Tile scores

Reference values: A E I L N O R S T U = 1; D G = 2; B C M P = 3; F H V W Y = 4; K = 5; J X = 8; Q Z = 10. Displayed scores total the letters of the word, excluding board bonuses. They do not account for zero-value blank tiles used to form a match.
